The Story

Two years after the events of Black and White, Unova has changed: new towns, new gyms, and a new hero setting out from Aspertia City. Your rival Hugh is driven by something personal — Team Plasma stole his little sister's Purrloin years ago, and he's never forgiven them.

Plasma is back, but colder: calling itself Neo Team Plasma, it has abandoned the liberation rhetoric and now seeks raw power. The scientist Colress studies how to draw out Pokémon's strength, while Ghetsis quietly pulls strings toward a devastating plan.

At the center of it all is Kyurem, the hollow third dragon of Unova's legend — and its terrifying ability to fuse with Reshiram or Zekrom. The Giant Chasm sequence is one of the series' most dramatic set pieces.

After stopping Plasma, the road leads to the Pokémon League, where a familiar face from the first games now sits as Champion.

Good to Know

  • Pokémon from older generations now appear in the wild, so mix Unova natives with returning classics.
  • Build up Join Avenue in Driftveil City — recruiting passersby unlocks shops for rare items, training, and discounts.
  • The level curve is steeper than Black/White, so keep a balanced team of six rather than overleveling one star.
  • Hugh's rival battles are great EXP checkpoints; never skip them.

After the Credits

  • Conquer Black Tower (Black 2) or White Treehollow (White 2) — brutal multi-floor battle gauntlets.
  • Star in movies at Pokéstar Studios in Virbank City for unique rewards.
  • Enter the Pokémon World Tournament and battle gym leaders and champions from every region.
